Each drum is wound with G.657A1 bend-insensitive single-mode optical fibre inside a flat HDPE jacket, steel messenger wire pre-integrated for aerial self-support, and FRP (fibre-reinforced plastic) strength members for tensile integrity. No additional messenger strand required — just pull, anchor, and splice.
