M21 CAT6 IP68 Waterproof RJ45 Network Connector — Gigabit Outdoor Aviation Plug and Panel Socket
Standard RJ45 connectors were never designed for the outdoors. Rain, humidity, dust, and UV exposure degrade unprotected terminations within months — causing dropped links, intermittent faults, and costly site revisits. The M21 CAT6 IP68 Waterproof RJ45 Connector solves this permanently.
With an IP68 ingress protection rating, this aviation-style plug and panel socket keeps your Cat6 Gigabit connections fully sealed against prolonged water immersion and total dust ingress — making it the right termination solution for outdoor ISP distribution points, WISP antenna masts, enclosures, and any weatherproof cabinet installation.
At UGX 11,000 per unit, it pairs directly with Celertec CAT6 Outdoor Solid Copper Cable and connects seamlessly into a MikroTik ISP Starter Kit deployment.
Key Features
- IP68 waterproof rating — fully protected against dust and continuous water immersion beyond 1 metre
- M21 aviation plug format — threaded locking collar ensures a vibration-resistant, pull-resistant connection
- CAT6 Gigabit rated — supports up to 1 Gbps for full-speed outdoor LAN and ISP backhaul links
- Panel mount socket included — mounts cleanly into enclosures, weatherproof cabinets, and outdoor distribution boxes
- Compatible with standard RJ45 plugs — plug in any Cat6 patch cable on the indoor side without adapters
- UV and corrosion-resistant housing — black PVC body rated for long-term outdoor exposure
IP Rating Explained
| Rating | Dust Protection | Water Protection | Suitable For |

Frequently Asked Questions
What does IP68 mean for an RJ45 connector?
IP68 is the highest standard ingress protection rating. The first digit (6) means total protection against dust. The second digit (8) means the connector is protected against continuous water immersion beyond 1 metre depth. This makes it suitable for the harshest outdoor ISP environments in Uganda, including heavy rain seasons and high-humidity sites.
What cable does this connector work with?
This connector is rated for CAT6 cable at Gigabit speeds. For outdoor runs, pair it with the Celertec CAT6 Outdoor Solid Copper Cable — 305m Drum. The indoor side accepts any standard RJ45 patch cable.
Do I need a special crimping tool to install this connector?
The outdoor cable entry uses a cable gland (no crimping required for the waterproof seal). For the RJ45 plug on the cable end, use our RJ45 Ratcheted Crimping Tool with Cat6 Pass-Through Connector Plugs.
Can I mount the socket on an outdoor enclosure or cabinet?
Yes. The panel socket uses a standard M21 threaded mount that fits a 21mm hole in any enclosure wall. Once mounted and connected, the threaded aviation plug locks on to complete the IP68-sealed outdoor-to-indoor Ethernet pass-through.
Is this connector suitable for PoE (Power over Ethernet)?
Yes. The connector passes all 8 conductors and is rated for CAT6 Gigabit, which supports IEEE 802.3af/at PoE and PoE+ standards. This makes it suitable for outdoor PoE devices such as access points and IP cameras connected via the MikroTik hAP 5-Port WiFi Router with PoE.
What ISP billing system do you recommend for Uganda?
We recommend a purpose-built ISP billing platform supporting PPPoE, hotspot, and mobile money (M-Pesa, Airtel Money) for East African operators. View the ISP Billing System for Uganda here.
