With four high-gain 5dBi external antennas, three LAN ports, one WAN port, and automatic 4G/3G network selection, the DWR-M920 is a reliable and straightforward broadband router for home users, small offices, and ISP subscriber premises across Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania, Rwanda, and East Africa.

Simply insert an MTN Uganda, Airtel Uganda, or any compatible East African network SIM card and the DWR-M920 automatically connects to the strongest available LTE or 3G signal, sharing internet over WiFi and wired LAN ports with no complex configuration required. The four 5dBi antennas provide significantly stronger signal reach than standard 2dBi routers — making it an effective choice for larger homes, open-plan offices, and premises with thick concrete walls common in Ugandan construction.

Key Specifications

Model: DWR-M920

4G LTE: Category 4 — download up to 150Mbps, upload up to 50Mbps

3G Fallback: HSPA+/HSPA/UMTS — auto-fallback to 3G when LTE unavailable

WiFi Standard: IEEE 802.11b/g/n (2.4GHz)

WiFi Speed: 300Mbps (2.4GHz, 2T2R)

Antennas: 4x external 5dBi antennas (2x WiFi + 2x LTE)

SIM Slot: Micro SIM — compatible with MTN Uganda, Airtel Uganda, and all East African LTE networks

LAN Ports: 3x Fast Ethernet LAN (10/100Mbps)

WAN Port: 1x Fast Ethernet WAN (10/100Mbps) — for wired ISP fallback or primary connection

WAN Types: Dynamic IP, Static IP, PPPoE

Features: Auto-APN, data usage monitoring, SMS management, guest WiFi, QoS, DHCP server, NAT, firewall, port forwarding

Security: WPA/WPA2-PSK, SPI firewall

Power: 12V/1.5A DC (adapter included)

Why the D-Link DWR-M920 for Home and SME Use in Uganda?

4x 5dBi high-gain antennas: Four high-gain antennas — two dedicated to LTE signal reception and two to WiFi distribution — deliver stronger indoor coverage and better LTE signal lock in areas with marginal 4G coverage, compared to standard 2dBi routers like the basic TP-Link TL-WR845N.

Dual LTE + wired WAN: Supports both SIM-based LTE internet and a wired ISP WAN connection simultaneously — enabling manual or automatic failover between your primary ISP and 4G LTE backup.

3x LAN ports: Unlike single-LAN-port mobile routers, the DWR-M920 has three LAN ports for wired connections to desktop computers, NAS drives, IP cameras, or office switches without needing an additional network switch.

Auto-APN: Automatically detects and configures the correct APN for MTN Uganda, Airtel Uganda, and other East African network SIM cards — no manual network settings required.

SMS management: View and send SMS messages from the router's web interface — useful for checking SIM data balance and receiving network operator alerts without removing the SIM card.

Data usage monitoring: Built-in data statistics track your monthly LTE data consumption — essential for managing costs on metered mobile data plans.

DWR-M920 vs Comparable 4G Routers in the NetEdge Range

vs TP-Link Archer MR200 AC750: The MR200 adds a 5GHz AC band (433Mbps) and gigabit LAN — better for environments with 5GHz-capable devices and higher ISP plan speeds.
